Letters, May 2003

Long time no speak. I’ve had a virus – computer and humanoid, a derailed computer, and much work. I have been blessed in praying with and encouraging the body, helping prepare for other missionaries who will be coming to the continent, working with the local Hungarians, and being a sounding board and encourager to the pastors here. God has blessed me more than I could have imagined. As I wrote to a brother today, maybe not in all the ways I thought I would, yet in the way He wants me to be.

A man’s heart plans his way, But the LORD directs his steps.
Proverbs 16:9 – NKJV

I traveled to a church in Subotic(tsz)a, Serbia with Rod and Paul where they spoke for two days to encourage the saints from Subotica, Belgrade, and other surrounding churches. We

stayed at the pastor’s house (bunking with Rod is an adventure unto itself) and had a great time of worship, fellowship, and prayer.

While there I spoke with an assistant pastor, Chris. As we were talking the subject of a radio station came up. He told me that recently, he had picked up a hitchhiker who lived in Subotica. As they were driving home he told him how he wanted to erect a radio antenna and start a local station there in town; this guy ‘just so happened’ to be a radio antenna specialist and station builder out of Budapest working for the largest radio concern in Hungary.
