At the end of 2018 the Lord put it on my heart to write the book you have just read. It was published in 2019. It is now early spring of 2024. I’ve been on a two year sabbatical to settle my family and seek clear direction from the Lord since moving to the states. This chapter is part of that direction, the first of a proposed series of books based on those last twenty plus years. The following is an excerpt from the next book, written in July of 2022.

In 1st Corinthian, chapter 14, Paul corrects the misunderstanding and misuse of God’s word administered by a church freely interpreting itself (not God’s word). He writes that one who prophesies speaks to men for edification and exhortation and consolation…Paul removes the practice of the manufactured oohs and aahs, the honor man gave to the ‘prophet’ of Corinththen as we still do now. One is pretended upon most; exhortation…
We embrace edification and encouragement easily dispensing grace in consolation; but to exhort, to give warning, to advise against, to make urgent appeal, to correct, even rebuke is oft rejected, ignored or turned into condemnation… Exhortation confronts us all…
Christian, consider not just your calling but your ability to see, hear and receive. A prophet is not just a predictor of things to come rather one who reaffirms God’s word; one who speaks uneasy truths…
